Mommy-to-go Breakfast Boxes
I made these cute Mommy-to-Go Breakfast Boxes for my kindergarten students to give to their Mom's for Mother's Day this year. (I'm a little late on posting I know) They were fun, cute and the Mom's loved that they got to grab, go and take them to the office in the morning. I picked up these Chinese carry-out type boxes from my local dollar store. (Great deal!) I put some tissue paper in the bottom then added some goodies for Mom to munch on. I put a banana, Nutri-grain bar, a homemade blueberry muffin, a chocolate chip cookie pop, a to-go coffee cup with lid, a hot chocolate packet and a tea bag. At school I had coffee, sugar, creamer, hot water and orange juice set up in the classroom. The Mom's could put whatever they wanted into their cup on their way out of the door. My students loved handing their Moms the boxes in the morning. This type of room event worked out well. Its hard to get away from work these days. It didn't take anytime from class or from Mom's work day. I lost a little but of sleep having to get to work at 6:00am but it was well worth seeing the Mom's excited and feeling well appreciated.
A Seuss of a Shower......
When my cousin emailed me and asked for some help planning her baby shower I couldn't have been more excited to say, YES!!! Her theme was Dr. Seuss. As a kindergarten teacher Seuss' birthday is our favorite celebration on the year. All of Seuss' zany brainy rhymes and adorable color schemes had me feeling creative. I wanted to share some pictures from the day. The Diaper cake was made by our cousin's wife and she did a phenomenal job on it. It was a perfect addition to the party. The food tags were embossed using the Sizzix Texture Boutique. The cookie pops were simple to make. I used Nestle Cookie break and bake cookies and baked them according to the packaging. As soon as I pull them out of the oven I immediately insert long lollipop sticks which I found at Michael's next to the candy melts. After they have cooled they will be stuck to the stick. I also picked up a pack of 25ct. clear treat bags (found next to the sticks at Michael's. I put the bags on upside down so that I can tie the bottoms. I cut a scalloped tag and a round circle using the Cricut. I stamped the white circle using a Stampin' Up stamp. Have a Seussical day!
Gift Bags and Matching Cards
If you are like me I hate spending money on those decorative gift bags and cards. They are way to over priced if you ask me. I love just buying the plain colored bags and decorating them to match a card. I have been doing them for birthdays and recently a baby shower. The kids love that their bag and card go together and I try to coordinate with the theme of their party to make it extra special. My son was invited to his friend bowling party. Using my Cricut and some card stock I was able to put together this themed card. Unfortunately, none of my cartridges had a bowling pin so I had to cut that by hand. The next gag and card I did was a for a baby shower. This baby shower was a Seuss Theme party but Cricut has not come out with a Dr. Seuss Cartridge yet. I am really hoping its in the near future. My last bag and card combo I'm posting was for a friend of mines daughter who was turning 1. When using the Cricut to make the bigger bags I usually make the images fit to size so it will use the whole 12x12 paper to make my cuts. The cards I typically cut at 5 and 1/2 inch and size my other cuts to fit accordingly. In my future posts I will post specifics in case you'd like to make your own.

Happy Birthday Gran!
Gran! That's what I call her anyway. I always wonder how people name their grandparents. I'm the first grandchild and chose Granny but as I got older her name got shortened to just Gran. Everyone that knows her calls her that. To me this lady is not just a grandmother but one of my best friends. I can call her 5 times a day and never run out of things to talk about. I can tell her just about anything and she still loves me for it. She is the root of my support system in life and I can't imagine my life without her. We worked together for many years. Me as the kindergarten teacher and her as the Art teacher, cafeteria lady, and the before/aftercare provider (She wore many hats). She cheered me on and provided that 'constructive criticism" anytime I needed it. Cancer entered her world a few years back and working with her came to an end. She doesn't miss a beat though. She still gets to hear all of the crazy stories of my day and even though she isn't just across the hall she is still there to give me the yays and nays on what I am doing. As she gets older its gets harder for her to be there like she used to be. Shes fading out of birthday photos and holiday pictures because its hard for her to get out of the house to attend. I try not to let it bother me that shes not there by calling her and replaying the day minute by minute so she can get the feel as if she were there. I know she would be there if she could. This is the part in life that sucks as you get older. Its inevitable though, so we just deal and go through the motions. Two years ago I threw a party for her and everyone got together to celebrate. She loved that. That's even harder for her to do this year. So, I must think of the next best thing to do. No, I have not been able to come up with that plan yet. So far what I have gotten done is her card. Inspired by my recent events of mouse hunting I made her a cute card with a mouse. I know she will get a laugh when I tell her what inspired it. : ) She loves my silly sense of humor. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAN!
Card info:

Happy 4th!
I figured that now is a good time to update this blog of mine! Let's see, we left off when my craft room was under a bit of renovation. Its finished and I love it! It's pink, black and white and everything I wanted it to be. Well, almost. I now realize that I really should have thought ahead and installed one of those vacuums in the floor for scraps of paper. I guess you can't have everything. It would be nice though. : ) I have been busy with a load of homework, end of the school year stuff, start of summer camp stuff and hunting a mouse. Yes, I said hunting a mouse. Those critters really drive me crazy. I do think they are adorable but they cannot live in my house. I caught one last week using a guitar, sticky trap and a chip clip. Last night I saw his friend. Those things never travel alone. Tonight I plan to catch this one. Last night was a total fail. I think because my husband got involved and scared the poor mouse so badly he wouldn't come out of his hiding spot. There is still tonight! Anyway, even though I have not kept up with my crafty blog I have still be crafting on the fly. Here are the pics of my new room! Enjoy!

Room Update
Hello,Okay...I know...again my blog has been neglected but for good reason. My room is finally finished. My last update mentioned that my hubby went out and got me 2 sets of storage cubes since then allot as changed. This month I decided I want a color change. If you know my husband you know that he hates hearing me say those words. I went from I light pink to a dark pink called First kiss. I not only picked it because of the color but the name alone was to cute to pass up. I thought that since the paint had primer in, plus was being painted over pink it would be easy to cover. Think again.... a second trip to Lowe's and another gallon finally did the trick. My husbands uncle was willing to make me a countertop and laminate my old one. I thought that was great. I could pick out my own laminate to go in my room. I had no idea there were that many different laminates. The array was crazy. Finally I settled on black. While at Lowe's I picked up 2 stools, 2 wall cabinets and 3 wall shelves. Now the fun has begun. My husband, father-in-law and husbands uncle worked and finally got everything hung. I couldn't find curtains any where so I headed to Jo-Ann's Fabric and found the best fabric that fit my room perfectly. I passed the fabric onto my boss who id a fantastic job sewing me some valances. Those got hung tonight. Now my room is complete and ready for some crafting.

I've been SO busy!
Okay, I have been so wrapped up in classes, work, kids, husband and household I have neglected my blog. Don't worry though I have still been busy in my craft room. Since my birthday I have been full speed ahead with making some really cute cards. First though I must tell you that my scrapbook room is undergoing some cosmestic changes. Robyn from My Pink Stamper inspired me with her remodeled scraproom. My room was already cotton candy pink but I never felt as if I had enough storage. My husband went out and bought me 2 white storage cube shelves, we turned them sideways and now awaiting a countertop for it. Right now I have a makeshift countertop serving a purpose. I have also added a few new items to my room. I got Sissix's texture boutique and I am LOVING it! It adds so much to my cards. I love the different embossing folders. I read quite a few blogs and kept hearing the name Close to My Heart. I looked them up and low and behold there was a consultant less than a mile from my house. I called her up and boy did I start something. I have opened a whole new can of worms here. I have now added some great sentiment stamps to my collection. Before I jump into all of that I wanted to share the Valentine's Day Cards that I made for my daughther's class. I just got the Simply Charmed cartridge for my Cricut and it's now my top favorite cartridge. I missed out on the Smiley Cards download : ( but this has to be the next best thing. I used the love bug for her card. The ribbon I picked up in the $1.00 section of the Target!! Great deal there. I just fell in love with these little Lovebug Valentine's. It was hard for me to give them away! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to me!
Wow! 31 years have flown by and I am now 32. I am thinking it will be a good year. You get better with age, right? I think when a person approaches a birthday they tend to think of a bunch of ways how they need to change. Tim McGraw's song My next 30 years paints a great picture here. My plan is to keep doing what I am doing. You love life and learn lesson along the way and if I just keep doing what I am doing then what lessons will be learned? I believe this birthday has been the best yet. Friday I celebrated with my kids by going to the movies and ice cream. Saturday I celebrated with my brother and cousins by going out to dinner and today was me day. I slept in and stayed in my PJ's most of the day. I say most of the day because it was interrupted when Erin started to complain about her ear. It was PJ's one minute Drs. office the next. Ear infection and a prescription 4 hours later. Unfortunatley, the pharmacy was not able to fill it and we have to wait until tomorrow. I pray she gets through the night without pain. I loved how a 4 year old Bump in the road and we are going to keep moving. Back at home my husband made dinner and had a surprise ice cream cake hiding in the freezer. All in all it was a great weekend. I have not filled you in on the best part.......MICHAELS!!! They had a huge store wide clearance with Cricut cartridges for $9.99. I got 2! Deal of the century! I also got a Gypsy for my birthday so figuring that thing out as claimed a huge piece of my weekend celebration. So far I am loving it. I am ready to tuck myself into bed and start my last week of vacation before my college classes begin again. That's a whole new adventure you are about to filled in on in the future.

Something New
Happy New Year!
I am new to this whole blog thing but I figured, "Hey, why not try this out?" So here's a little about me. I am Mommy to 3 kids. Ethan is 6, Erin is 4 and Aiden is 1. There will be more to come on these 3. I work full time as a Kindergarten teacher. Teaching is my love in life. There is nothing more rewarding then teaching a child and watching the light bulb go off when they understand something they didn't before. Sure it's not the big money making career but it's what makes me happy in life. I am back in school part-time. Last semester was one of the hardest for me thus far. It included Statistics. If you knew me then you would know that math is not my thing. I have feared it the most in my life. I worked hard and by the grace of God I passed that class with a B. That B felt like the biggest reward academically for me. That accomplishment probably doesn't mean much for any of you reading this but for me it was HUGE. The benefits of being a teacher are that you get a lot of holiday breaks. You would think these breaks would give me some spare time but think again. I have my own craft room which I love. That is where I lock myself in and get some ME time. I love making cards and others crafty things. I only wish there was more time to actually spend in there but as you could probably guess from the blog title my life is rather busy. You'll see : ) Till next time!
