Valentine's Day Goodie Bag Toppers
Love is in the air! I feel like we just finished Christmas and New Year's yesterday and here we are getting ready for Valentine's Day. I guess I need to run out and take down my Santa Claus yard flag. I can't believe I haven't gotten that down yet. Anyway, I spent my morning making my daughter's Valentine goody bag toppers for her class. She had a specific request that it have a cupcake with a heart on top. The Cricut Expression 2 anniversary edition came with the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge downloaded inside. It's a cute cartridge and I absolutely love the font. It also had the image that would make the 5 year old very happy. I cut the cupcake at 2.25 using Reflections red card stock for the base and a pink card stock for the frosting. I used the Cricut Imagine to cut a fun tag using Bubblegum Stripes to fill the tag. This is another cartridge that became a favorite quickly. The paper on it is perfect, especially for girly type projects. I cut the tag at 2.7. Once that was all cut out and cupcake assembled I cut the bag topper at 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. Fold it in half and begin by attaching the patterned paper tag and cupcake. I used the You're Sweet! Stampin' Up stamp from the Mini Mates set with CTMH black ink. The To: and From: is also a Stampin' Up stamp. I'm off now to fill bags with candy and attach them to these cute toppers. I'll be sure to post a pic soon. Get crafting!

Make A Wish Birthday Card
Skill level: Easy
I am very excited to share this card. Monday was my birthday and my husband surprised me with a Cricut Imagine. At first sight of this machine it was not one on my wish list. Now that I have one I don't know how I created without it. It's a bonus option for making cards and scrapbook layouts. It also makes making cards with many layers fast to craft and put together. I started out by cutting and folding to make a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 card. I layered a slightly smaller brown piece of Reflections cardstock on top. I cut yet another slightly smaller rectangle using Reflections cardstock Cool blue and using my Sizzix Texture Boutique embossed the Happy Birthday images onto it. I love the Yummy Imagine cartridge. Using it I chose the Make a Wish banner and the birthday cake. Using the layer function on the Make a Wish banner I changed the color of the E and I to orange. (See, great options) This card is for my nephew and he doesn't want any part of the color pink so orange was a better fit here. I cut it at 1.5 and the cake at 2.5 on the Imagine. I used pot dots to attach both cut outs and tada! The inside sentiment says, " It's your birthday CELEBRATE" using Close to my Hearts Card Chatter stamp set. Happy Sunday everyone!

Happy 1st Birthday!
Happy New Year everyone! In our family we are starting the year off celebrating two big milestones birthdays. We have a combined first and 50th birthday party to attend this Sunday. I had some free time this evening so I figured I throw together a quick card for the littlest birthday boy. If you know me then you would know that I usually wait until the day of the party to make a card so I feel very proud of myself for getting this done today. I enjoy doing kid cards the most I think so I chose to do this one first. I will post pictures the one I do for the 50th birthday later. I started by cutting the background paper for the card. I have a 12x12 stack of various birthday themed papers. I next cut the solid piece for the center band. I love my Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge and use it probably most often for parties. I cut the cake layers at 3.25 along with the number one. I quickly assembled the layers. After I took this picture I used pink chalk to highlight the cheeks on the cakes face. I used a Close To My Heart Stamp sentiment on the inside that says Have a Happy Birthday using teal ink from Stampin' Up. I can't wait to attach it to the present a give this little card away.
